Amazon gives authors the potential to reach a truly worldwide audience. Some estimate that there are over 30 million active Kindle users in just the United States and 150 million Kindles sold around the world. That’s massive earning potential for you!

First, realize that you’re not going to make $10,000 a month overnight. But don’t be discouraged. Everything that’s worth doing is worth doing right, and also takes some time.
The path to $10k involves crawling, walking and then running. Creating your first short eBook is the crawling part. Writing your first full-length eBook could be compared to walking. And then having five full-length eBooks would be running. We’ll break down each of these steps so you can see how this is all possible.
Your first step in the process is to create just one short eBook to dip your toes into the Amazon KDP water. The point of creating your first book is not to get rich. Think of it as practice. It’s where you learn how to do it and prove to yourself that it is possible. You’ll build confidence in yourself and get some of the early mistakes out of the way. (But our course also shows you how to avoid them, too. Like staying away from trademarked or copyrighted terms.)
We’ll also show you how to make sure your book is professional looking and how to turn it into an audiobook.
Our full Amazon self-publishing publishing course starts with a 7-day profit challenge. This is because making your first $1 on the Internet is the hardest part. After that, there’s only one direction you can go—up! Over time, your books will bring in profits and these profits will add up big time.
We recommend your first eBook is only about 5,000 words. Pick a topic you know a lot about or are passionate about. Something you can talk or write about forever. You can even ask people who know you best, “What am I obsessed about?”
At this point you might be thinking, “But I’m not a writer. I can’t write a book.” This is just simply not true.
Think. You’ve already probably written 100,000+ words in emails, letters, school essays and text messages. Why couldn’t you channel that same writing into a short book? Don’t limit yourself and what you’re capable of.
Also be careful of who you listen to. Friends and family who don’t understand how self-publishing online really works are not the best support for you. They might try to convince you it’s not worth it. Or you can’t make money. Don’t take advice from people who’ve never started an online business before. Tune out negative voices as you pursue your dreams.

Writing a full-length book might seem even more daunting to you. But hopefully you have more confidence that it can be done after reading about how to write a short eBook.

As you create your first full-length book from scratch, you can do a couple things to make this happen.
Once you have a longer book to sell, you’ll need to edit and format it. This can also be done with very little money by hiring freelancers. Publishing on Amazon’s KDP means that your book will be available in less than three days and you’ll start making your first profits.
And when it comes to a full-length book, you’ll want to spend a little more time researching your topic. You can go to Amazon and see what’s popular right now. Try to find book topics that have high demand and low competition. What niche areas could you create something that will stand out from the crowd?
And just like your first short eBook, the earnings from your full-length book might be initially small. But they can still have a massive impact on the direction of your life.
You’ve learned to crawl with your first short eBook, and then walk with a full-length one. Now it’s time to run!
This is where it gets really exciting, and that $10k goal starts to become more of a reality.
At this point, you have a lot of online self-publishing experience under your belt. Through lots of practice, putting those reps in, you have a really good idea of what works and what doesn’t. Maybe you’re starting to bring in $500 or $1,000 a month from your published eBooks.
Now you’re going to write multiple full-length eBooks to really expand your offerings. This is where you can build some real synergy toward your money goals.
If you have at least five full-length books that each have a handful of 5-star reviews, you’ll start to bring in a lot more income. And remember, this is passive income. So the days of punching a clock will be over.
