Now Bob’s lost weight, he’s a successful entrepreneur, he’s making more money than ever before and, instead of commuting in soul-crushing traffic, he’s traveling the world exploring the Great Pyramids of Egypt and climbing Machu Picchu. All while running his business from his laptop and a strong Wi-Fi connection.
Okay, time for us to fess up. Bob’s not real. We just made him up for a catchier intro. But Bob does represent the true stories of real-life students who have taken our self-publishing course. We eventually had so much success with Amazon self-publishing that we decided to share our knowledge and expertise with others so they could also benefit.

We’re going to look at just three success stories of people who have taken our course and launched an online publishing business. There are many more we could include.
We’ll start with Yasmin. Yasmin took our course and realized that she wanted to try something new. She used her passion for helping children with speech development and wrote a book titled “Speech Therapy for Toddlers: Develop Early Communication Skills with 137 GAMES designed by a Speech and Language Therapist.”
Yasmin published under the author’s name “Kids SLT Publications,” which just goes to show that you don’t even have to use your real name when self-publishing.
Yasmin currently has 142 Amazon reviews with an average rating of 4.1 stars. Her book is also ranked #81 in the book category “Family Activity” and #250 in “Early Childhood Education.”
Here is a short excerpt from her Amazon book summary:

Ever wanted to level up your water bath canning skills? Well, Colby Summerlin has you covered and he’s our next example of a self-publishing success story.
He used his knowledge and curiosity about canning and turned it into cold hard cash. Colby’s book is titled “The Beginners Water Bath Canning Recipe Book.” His eBook has only been out since around December 2022 and it’s already making $1,400 a month in passive income. From just one eBook. Pretty impressive—and tasty!
The subtitle adds more details about what readers will get out of it: “Easy Homemade, To-The-Point Recipes for Canning and Preserving Pickles, Salsa, Jams, Jellies, Butters and More.” And here’s a section of his book listed on Amazon:
“Do you have loads of veggies piling up because you can’t eat them fast enough? Are you looking for a way to preserve those veggies for winter so you don’t throw them out? Well, you have found the right book. We believe in self-reliance, preserving our harvest, and clean eating. This book will provide the tools and knowledge needed to succeed at water bath canning.”
“There are over 110 different recipes neatly tucked away in the pages of this book. Some of these recipes may be common, but you will also find many unique recipes you may have never heard of, like rose petal jelly.
“Along with the recipes, you will also have access to support for any water bath canning-related questions you may have. How is this, you may be wondering; well, we have a community of over 77,000 canners from all over the globe, with all different backgrounds and experience levels.”
Colby picked a niche topic for his eBook that millions of people can relate to. Everyone struggles to use up the food they buy and not waste it. Colby found a way to help people solve this problem through water canning. His eBook has 275 Amazon reviews and an average star rating of 4.9 out of 5.
All of this is resulting in constant royalties hitting his bank account. You can do the same thing!
We saved one of the best examples for last—even though all the examples are great. One of the purposes of our self-publishing course is to show you how to make enough to quit your day job. These three examples are just the tip of the money-making iceberg. They show how you can use Amazon’s KDP platform to build the life of your dreams.
Let’s close with one final quote from a testimonial Chevon wrote about the power of self-publishing on Amazon:
